Project description
With the objective of making the Saint-Sauveur district, in lower Quebec City, more convivial, the Société de développement commercial and the City of Quebec have proposed for 2020 a greening and public art route throughout the main thoroughfare in the neighborhood: Saint-Vallier Ouest street. Being responsible for the Greening part of the project, Les Urbainculteurs designed and manufactured around thirty colorful growing containers, located all along the street. In these boxes, edible flowers are mixed with tomatoes, Malabar spinach and beans. Following the principle of Incredible Edibles, the crops are available to all those who pass by.
The project created a lot of enthusiasm among the residents of the neighborhood, many of whom stopped to congratulate us when we were installing or maintaining the plants.
